Andreas Tobola has completed his doctoral studies in low-power sensor systems and was awarded Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany. He received his Diplom (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Amberg, Germany. Additionally, he received his M.Eng. in software engineering and information technology from the University of Applied Sciences in Nürnberg, Germany. From 2005 to 2016, he led numerous projects as a research scientist and embedded software architect at the Fraunhofer IIS in wearable computing and low-power embedded systems. He authored publications in low-power wearable computing and quality of sensing. Since 2016, he has joined the technology field of IoT within Siemens AG. In his role as Senior Key Expert Engineer for Quality of Sensing at Siemens Technology, he has been driving numerous projects with embedded sensor systems, in-field signal processing, and data analytics, focusing on novel methods for determining and interpreting sensor signal quality. Besides, he has been lecturing on biomedical signal processing, mainly at the University of Applied Sciences in Nürnberg, since 2013.
